Be careful with the green hairy mushroom... me and a buddy of mine are both battling them off like the plague. I bought a rock that had 4 or 5, now I have 15 plus in 4 months. They grow like wild fire! If you have them on their own rock they look good and are very hardy... but be prepared for them to grow out. I'm going to try to get them out of my tank in a week or two (once my lye gets in). I'm going to cut them back and give away frags (a lot of people still love them) then lye the small pieces that I can't scrape off the rock. Wish me luck!

Those zoas are great though! I'm trying to get a pink zoa or paly into my tank... just to add another color. I may find the patience to wait for a pink goniopora though... love those things. :-)

These zoas were labeled "copper zoa" when I got them, and they don't look copper to me, nor do they look like man-eaters

Great to see you back on RA again. Looking forward to some pictures. Too bad about the space shuttle launch... I've never seen one in person either.

I'm not lucky enough to have a frag swap sans the R. As a Battlestar Galactica fan, I sometimes think frack swap

Not to go off topic too bad, but am I the only one that seems to have trouble thinking or saying Frag Swap?

I either want to say Frag Swap (Swap as in Clap)
    or
Frag Swap (Frag as in Frog)

I wish Middle Tennessee had something like that. Sounds like alot of fun!!

I was on another forum that a few local reef keepers frequented, and they mentioned the swap. As it turns out the San Francisco Bay Area has a very large and active reefing community, so I'm now a member of the big club and look forward to their future activities

I get my first frag fest tomorrow... this isn't the members swap but a fundraiser the club does for only members. Fragging out some colonies so we can pay cool people like melev to come hang out with us (still can't believe I missed that)

hehe. I understand that thought process. Pictures and posts are the best way to determine what's what.

The plate is acclimating fast. I gave it some frozen mysis last night and it gobbled it up. I tried a spot feeding for my hammer but so far nothing, although it seems pretty happy given all the little tentacles it's sprouting.

Thanks for the clarification Marc. I'm still getting used to the reefing mentality of "OMG IS THAT SAFE SHOULD I GET RID OF IT" while I'm locked in my biologist mentality of "OMG ANOTHER COOL WORM HOORAY!"

Those little filter feeders do no harm, as you pointed out. Here's an old picture I took of two in my sump. The purple are tiny bits of coralline growth.

I ordered the Live Sand Activator Plus and the Sandbed Clams, and I like the animals a lot. In retrospect, I could have ordered more since he does run a good deal.

I went with IPSF and couldnt be happier. He has lots of little things in his sand and fuge kits.
