As promised... This coral is one of the SPS from my last reef. A single tiny twiglet turned into this guy. The Tyree A. valida was mere polyps, and I mean a couple of dots in a dead colony. I waited and about 10 months later I was able to cut out these living parts and build-yer-own mini colony. ...
I'm editing this pictures I took yesterday, but couldn't wait to share this one. The 50g water change and a fresh batch of carbon definitely improved visible water conditions.

Today as soon as my migraine subsided, I decided to get my arms wet and do some work in the reef. It was cold and rainy outside, so why not play in the 80 degree water. I removed some stuff that needed to be gone, like empty shells, some dead skeletons, etc and tried cleaning up some corals. I added some frags into the reef that have been in the frag tank for the past month or longer, and puttied / glued down frags that were broken recently by my active fish. A few items ...
On November 5, 2011, Fish2morow had its Customer Appreciation Day with some amazing specials. Upon my arrival at 10am, there was already quite a group forming at the front door. You had to get a ticket to get in, but I was allowed in immediately with my press pass: a Nikon D90. The reasoning for the tickets was to avoid overcrowding the store; each customer was given direct attention as a salesman became available. ...
