  1. How much food should you feed your livestock? A lot!

    At our last club meeting, Dr Ron Shimek spoke to us about what real science proves when it comes to fish eating habits. He started his talk while tornado sirens wailed outside and hail pounded on the roof above our heads. His microphone was set up incorrectly and we really couldn't hear what he was saying all that well, but the audience did what they could when they weren't fidgeting or wincing for the damage their cars were likely enduring.

  2. Fishy pictures

    Considering how much I feed my fish, it's funny that I don't take their pictures very often. Moving targets are not my forté....

    I love Crown Royal.

  3. LPS corals

    I really like LPS corals and find their look to be both fluid and colorful under the right lighting. The bommie section of my tank has a variety of LPS, and when the MH turns off over them, the adjacent MH (to their left) coupled with the VHO actinics gives them an interesting glow every evening from 7pm forward.

  4. Picture update

    I've been absent for the past week or so because my family was in town. Now that things are back to normal, I thought I'd share a few images and update on how the 400g is progressing.

    First off, I have to report a couple of losses. The Gudgeon Goby that I've had for the past 3 years was seen blowing around the tank last week. I don't know why it died. And Dyson, the Mimic Filefish was last seen sucking up food like spaghetti last Saturday night, and then vanished. I finally found ...

  5. Tonight's Top Down pictures

    I've stated this before, but it bears repeating - looking at your corals from above is vastly superior to viewing them through the walls of your tank. These pictures still can't showcase their beauty, but I tried valiantly none-the-less.
