  1. Safety Stop - do you use it?

Yesterday our club held its Summer Social event: two air-conditioned chartered buses drove about 70 members around the metroplex to visit five local sponsors (fish stores). A lot of planning went into the event, and each store prepped for the sudden onslaught of potential customers pouring into their doors at once. I took plenty of pictures and will be sharing an upcoming blog about the entire day in the very near future.

As we left each store, some newly purchased livestock was carefully ...

  2. Any eel experts out there?

Lately, I've really thought my reef needs a beautiful eel. Something I can trust to be a nice reef-safe addition that won't devour my other reeflings. What's a good candidate? I do have a couple of options as to the habitat. It could live in the 400g with everything, or I could put it in the 60g with the anemones and clownfish. 4. Shipped CUC during July in Texas

Reefs2go had a special earlier this week, announcing it on the DFWMAS forums since they are a sponsor. The first 50 orders got free shipping (USPS Priority Mail), so I jumped on the deal. For $40, I got ceriths, astreas, margarita snails, nassarius snails,a lettuce nudibranch and some blue leg hermits. The box shipped out Wednesday for a Friday delivery, and the bags felt warm. Too warm to the point I decided to measure it with a thermometer.

  5. Helfrichi, plural. Redux.

A year ago, I tried purchasing three of these beautiful firefish. It didn't go well. Business is good, so I figured I'd try once more. I ordered three more for my reef, which arrived today.

I'd been up all night and kind of felt like I should stay up all day to get stuff done, but even a three hour nap would be better than no sleep at all. At 9:45am, the doorbell rang with the Fedex guy standing box in hand. He told me he was glad I was here, because what was he going to do with ...
