  1. Yellow Scroll update

On January 5, 2013 I posted this picture of the Yellow Scroll coral. It wasn't doing well at all, but I saw plenty of DNA.

Never give up on a coral until there's nothing left.

  2. Shameless plug

Every month, I have people ask me what I do for a living. When they discover my livelihood comes from Melev's Reef, they always seem to be very impressed. That being said, any order placed with my company helps me stay in business and is greatly appreciated.

For Black Friday, I put up a number of items on my site that are marked 10%-20% off. If you've been thinking about buying an RO/DI system, a Vortech Mp40wES pump, RO filters & membranes, Phosphate Rx, RedCyano Rx, Safety Stop, ...

  3. Rod's Food arrived

I just got a shipment of Rod's Food delivered today. The Fedex guy woke me up, actually... and since I know he does such a nice job packing the food with dry ice, I put the box on the counter and went back to bed. An hour and a half later, I started brewing some coffee to start my day and fired up the Nikon.

Rod's special packaging is almost magical. When you open up the box, all you have is frozen food, with no trace of the dry ice.

  4. Enthusiasm renewed

We've all been there. Your tank is on auto-pilot, you aren't making any new purchases, you see the same troublesome areas that need to be tended to but have little desire to actually get those cared for. Your patience is less than before, and what you want continues to be postponed by one thing or another. It's annoying, to say the least.

  5. Pictures of the tank

Here are a few pictures I took over the past couple of days, but check out this link first. Tim came over yesterday to help with the tank move and posted up his nice pictures on DFWMAS:
