Questions - Need some input

ok so I seem to have an issue with receding tissue on LPS corals that I have kept for years successfully. I first started noticing these issues after I lost all my sps as I have unsuccessfully raised sps since installing my bio-pellet reactor I took it offline, cleaned it, and stowed it away. The problems persisted and I thought perhaps since some bryopsis has persisted and lived in my refugium that maybe it was a cause (plus since the fuge was extremely dirty since I was having a hard time getting ...

A couple little quick hits I wanted to share. As of Sunday December 23rd I officially added the first sps corals to the newly restarted tank. The best coral LFS in the area started ordering from ORA and have hired better employees that have that store really turning around so seeing some SPS I really could not resist so I purchased a purpleish acropora and a BoP Birdsnest which I dipped, acclimated, dimmed the lights down a bit, and within 10 minutes of placing them in the tank the polyps were fully ...

Hello fellow addicts! As many of you know I recently did a tank restart so 70% of all my water is new, no additives added, no corals yet, and lots of testing done. Currently I am working on stabilizing my parameters but first I need to get them all where they should be and I am wanting to do sps and lps in this tank so I want to maintain them at the right levels and keep them as rock solid as possible. After 13 days of running I am at:

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0

Ok so I have been through a lot with my current tank and set up but I am starting to lose some very hardy corals and as well there are some things and corals I would like to rid my tank of (blue clove polyps, xenia.) My rock I bought "live" but it is not very porous and I think may be leaching some bad into my water as well. So I am thinking about "starting over" and wanted to get some input.
