I have had my 60 gallon cube tank up and running for the last 4 months, I am stocking the tank with LPS and SPS. I am looking into purchasing a dosing pump and have been looking at the bubble Magnus brand. I have been having some problems with low ph and alkalinity. Ph is constantly at 7.8-7.9 while the last alkalinity test is around 4.5-5 DKH. Will adding a dosing pump while dosing calcium, alkalinity and mag help bring up my ph to there proper levels. Question for all the addicts using a Refugium. If there is algae starting to grow in the Refugium on the glass, will adding a turbo snail in help with keeping it under control? Will they leave the cheato alone?

Are filter socks worth having in a sump to catch what comes out of the drain line? My sump is running with a bio pellet reactor, reef octopus skimmer, phosban reactor, Refugium with LR, deep sand bed and cheato. Should I keep using the filter sock or run without it? Anyone with thought, I would like to hear them...

Reading on line about bio-pellets and Marc has suggested putting the outlet of the reactor towards the skimmer. Has any one plumbed a bio-pellet reactor directly to the skimmer intake? Is it better just to have it pointed at the intake?
