Reefkoi's Evolution LED light fixture

Rating: 2 votes, 4.00 average.
I'm going to be doing an in-depth product review of the Evolution LED fixture, but just wanted to share some pictures of today's arrival.

The package shipped from Florida to Texas via Fedex, and arrived wrapped in plastic because of today's rain. It was well-packed with foam to keep the fixture centered in the box.

The LED fixture has two power cords. The blue lights are wired directly, while the white LEDs have an on/off switch. The cords are wired in directly. It also came with the wire hanger system.

When plugged in, both lights look good. The On button for the white light has a 5 second delay before they come on.

I've heard reports that the cooling fans are loud. To me, it is a quiet fixture, but perhaps my reef is drowning out the sound. Once this is installed in my fishroom, I'll have more information to share. The fans blown down into the fixture, and vents along the sides gently export air. The fixture states on the label that it uses 120w of power; I'll confirm later with a Kill-o-watt meter. I'm probably going to use this over a frag tank or my anemone system.

Great news !!! Cant wait to see this in action. I've been wanting to jump in the led market for some time but $$$ is standing in the way. These fixtures are very affordable.

I'm tempted to stick it over my LR vat for now. I'll definitely bring it to our club's Frag Swap this weekend to put over the frag tank that showcases the raffle prizes (corals).

It works as advertised. I have the whites plugged into a timer, and the blues I turn on and off as I see fit each day. I may add them to the timer with future trips in my future. My corals look great under it, from SPS to LPS and well as the occasional softy / ricordea. 14,000K is a very nice color combo.
