  1. A handy stapler

When you have a guy install cable, he usually has a tool to secure it along the baseboards. It uses a rounded staple, so I recently went to Home Depot seeking one to call my own. I wanted to secure the USB cable running between the Apex and the PM1 box, as well as some RO/DI tubing running to the new frag system's top off container.

  2. Power (UPS)

As the years go by, equipment gets old and eventually fails. I've used UPS (uninterrupted battery system) to keep things running when the power goes out initially. They are designed for computers, but I've used them to run pumps, powerheads, and the Apex. Over the past 60 days, I've had some really old one die. The other I have throttled back as my skimmer feed. While the noise reduction would be nice it's not the biggest draw for me as my sump room is in the basement. What does interest me is the control ability and monitoring. I wonder if the L1 would be able to deliver the same or more than a BlueLine 70HD at ...

  5. Reeflink

I recently upgraded my 2 mp60's to the quiet drives. I initially had an issue with night mode and to make a long story short I purchased a Reeflink. Firstly, it was a breeze to set up and found both vortecs right away. Nice! I found that the night mode function has been eliminated in ecotech live. It is now just constant speed mode which is essentially the same thing. Ecosmart modes are initially pre programmed so I chose to change those modes to better match what I had going on before the upgrades. ...
