Today, I decided to take a few pictures from different angles that what I'd usually do. This first shot is from the Spidey-Cam. His name is Peter...

  2. The Controller

I have not said much about the controller I am using. So I figured I will give it a go here. The screenshots here were done from an iPad. The controller tailors the web pages to the device so the screens will be different on a computer or phone. The controller I am using is the Archon. It is Digital Aquatics latest controller release. It is completely web based. It also has WiFi right out of the box. There are no additional module needed for WiFi. The head unit has 2 ports that can be either pH ...

  3. Eggs!

Today I noticed this tubeworm feather duster had a cluster of eggs around the tube. Apparently this tubeworm (or another one) spawned and the eggs probably got snagged on the hard tube instead of being washed away into the filtration. Which allowed me to get a picture of them. Neat!

  4. A difference in temperature noticed

Not the most interesting topic, but I saw this curiosity and wanted to share it.

I just checked my tank temperature for the 400g reef, and then for the 60g frag system. The first one uses metal halides, vhos, and a small cooling fan. The second one uses LED lighting and no fan. Look at how the temperature is smoother in the first one and more jagged in the second one. Never noticed until now.

  5. skimmer overflow solution

My external skimmer has overflowed a few times over the 3 years since my tank has been set up. Even if I keep the cup drain open and let it go into a 5 gal pail it it will occasionally surprise me with a full pail and a wet floor in my basement sump room. I ordered this fine looking solution to my problem.
