  1. All Sorts of Dosing Questions

Marc and any of you that can help,

I have been dosing for about a year now using 2part, and dosing alk and cal unevenly. I seem to be dosing much more alk...I dose about 2.5oz of alk daily, and maybe dose calcium once per week if even that. It seems my alk drops daily where calcium drops at a much slower rate. Would you suggest I begin dosing in equal volumes of alk and cal daily? Would I then dose 2.5oz alk and 2.5 cal? I didn't dose in equal amounts as I believed this would increase ...
  2. I love this time of year

It's around this time of year that I watch the TDS of my RO unit drop. I'm talking about the output of the RO system before the DI stage.

Whenever I turn on the RO/DI system, which is twice a week, I open a valve before the DI stage and let it run for 90 seconds. By avoiding TDS creep, DI resin lasts longer. Link: http://www.reefaddicts.com/content.p...thy-of-concern

Once the water is flowing, I'll turn on the TDS meter to observe the numbers ...

  4. A likely resolution

I've been giving the current reef situation a lot of thought tonight as I'm preparing for my departure, and I believe I may have figured out where the excess bacteria is coming from.

When I dose Prodibio's BioDigest and Bioptim, it requires two Pro vials to match my water volume (or so I thought). I'm using an alternate packaged vials now, which allows you to drip it in. Holding the two vials side by side, they don't match in volume. The front of the boxes has the same information ...

  5. Blue Life Phosphate RX dosing?

Just to clarify heres the directions on the container,

Six drops of Phosphate Control will lower your phosphate by 1 ppm (mg/L) for every 10 gallons (37.9 liters) of water.

Does that mean 1.0 ppm or .01ppm?

My phos is testing at .04 on Hanna and I was going to dose 72 drops.

My tank volume minus rocks and sand is 120 gallons, so 6 drops X 12 = 72 drops to drop my phos by .01?
