I sold my T5s and decided to go back to MHs. I didn't want a fixture, so I would need a canopy. I decided to make my own to save some money. Although in the end I probably spent just as much as if I would have had bought a canopy, I feel the project contributed to a skill I would like to further develop, carpentry. I have a much better appreciation for everyone out there in this hobby. I am sure part of my issues have been the area I am working in. While it is the perfect location for the system, it is a tight fit.

I still have a bit more equipment to buy and install. I have been doing some reading around the web on the best way to start a new reef tank once ...

  5. Custom made Protein Skimmer.

Well from browsing through various threads on other forums and I know this is most likely the thousandth time someone has asked for advice on building there own Protein Skimmer. Now personally I am not looking to build a Protein Skimmer to lower my overall cost. My main goal is to build a custom piece of equipment tailored to my overall specifications with the added bonus of being able to say I designed and manufactured it myself. So if you have experience in building you own Protien Skimmer, working ...
