quick update

Rate this Entry
hey everyone, just a quick update, the new tank has been setup for just about a month now and everything is looking great! i have not been checking NO3 NO2 or NH3 i can sort of tell where things are at just by looking at the tank, but i have my Mg ALK and Ca all in check and my pH is abnormally perfect 8.2day and 8.0night. the initail hair algea bloom is just about over and the cyano bloom is also begining to fade away with less and less each day, just 2 small spots left.

All in all everything is looking very! good espically my corals, in the old tank i had a tricolor which was totally brown, now its bright bright blue and green! i assume its the presance of nutrients, my acans are looking good, and im already seeing growth in my chalice's, the scolly which was dieing is now fully inflated and bouncing back.

Poor iphone pictures, i really screwed up the white balance on my camera trying to get pictures of fire flies

today my LED's came in, i added 8 more royal blue to the fixture so i could turn up my cool whites a little higher, it took me about 30min to get them added in, i can definitly see the diffrence, i also fixed my stray voltage problem which was charging my heatsink...turns out i had a small shard of aluminum making contact with a solder, now i just need to buy longer aluminum so i can space out the units.

the new ones have black stars

it is beautiful here! i spend atlease 3 hours every night fishing thats why im not on here as much

Nice! Sounds like its doing very well.
I'd be out fishing every night if that was my back yard too. Might have to trade the reef for a small boat.
