Leaky Reeflo

Rate this Entry
Hello fellow addicts!
Glad to see all the progress out there. I too have been busy making some progress of my own. Pictures to come soon
Today, I hit another snag yet again... The tank is on the stand, plumbing is done and it's full of water. Time to turn on the dart! ABORT ABORT PULL THE PLUG!!
Well, that was short lived it was only on for 30 seconds for us to realize the brand new dart has a leak it's leaking somewhere between the impeller washer and SS seal. I've had it for about 3-4 months new in the box - not sure if at this point to call reeflo or take it back to my LFS where ordered it from... I'll start making calls in the morn. Any advise is welcome. Sometimes I wonder, am I the only person out there that has these weird random things happen to? I'd also like to hear your story, I'm hoping I'm not the only one. Melev I've read yours 2X's....lol

Although Reeflo pumps are a great pump, you are not the first to get a leaky one out of the box. The good news is that the customer service at Reeflo is fantabulous from what I have heard. Certainly if you can exchange it same day at the LFS that would be ideal, if not contact Reeflo and they will make it right.

Mine leaked right out of the box as well. but it was due to a hole in the outter housing. It was a very small hole and I had to have the pump running ASAP. So I put a little bit of silicon over the little hole and no more leak. I really should get another outter housing just in case it starts leaking again.

Hmm I wish it was a quick fix like that. My pump is niagra falling - good thing my LFS is awesome and told me to bring it in they will ship it back and get me a new one ASAP

Wow the folks at Reeflo are AWESOME!! Turns out it was a cracked impeller that was causing the niagra falls leak. Reeflo overnighted the part and my pump should be back up and running tomorrow afternoon. I'm pretty impressed they spent the extra money for me to have the part on Saturday
