A few iPhone pictures from today

I was looking in my tank today and enjoying the corals. Everyone is about to be moved to the big tank, so I took a few quick pictures to share. What prompted this was my Bubble Tip Anemone, which was actually forming bubbles. I have seven currently, and none have displayed bubbles in a long time, so this half-hearted effort was still different from the norm. It would be nice to know why they have bubbles, and why they lose them.

If you look in the heart of this Chalice coral, there is a dark shadow. This is caused by the actual frag that the entire colony came from, that rectangular brick in the center. Lots of growth in the two-plus years I've had it.

While feeding some corals in the frag tank, I started counting each piece of livestock. The frag tank is 10g in size, and there are 40 pieces of individual life in there at the moment including a Maxima Clam (just beneath the green chalice). Almost everything in this tank will move into the 400g, at last.

The Maze Coral that I posted about a few months ago has healed up nicely. You can see the Chalice above it needs to move (it has grown up onto the glass in the upper right section and will need something like dental floss to cut it off safely). The anemone will also move away, into the 60g cube tank.

These Palys (although I refer to them as zoas usually) are super pretty.

The last three images are the Acropora sp that has been unusual for some time. I thought it was infested with pests, but it didn't have anything come off when I used "All Out" pest solution. It has been displaying a few colors, to the point that I'd nickname it a rainbow Acro. I'm not even sure where it came from originally.

Hey Marc quick question and maybe you are already doing it but do you plan to fill the 400gal with new salt water and just plumb it to your sump and run both tanks on the sump for a period of time to balance the 2 tanks? If not are there some draw backs to doing it that way that you have considered? The reason i ask is because i currently have a 108 and may be moving to a 300gal in the spring. Thanks

Yes, that has been my plan. I'll have to figure out a way to plumb it in though, which is easier typed than glued.
