Something different

From time to time, something tiny catches my eye. This guy less than a 1/4" was holding onto the side of a Hammerhead AlgaeFree cleaning magnet. It's a chiton, totally benign/reef-safe. You'll usually see many of these on the rockwork after lights out if you look closely enough.

Using a tripod, remote flash, remote trigger, delayed countdown, macro lens with extension tube... this was the best I could get. And it was quietly moving, hence the slight blur.

Speaking of cleaning magnets, the front glass hasn't been swiped clean in a couple of days. This evening I noticed all these kisses on the glass from the white tail kole tang. Tang kisses.

Funny... I just found this little creature (a chiton) crawling on a frag and had no clue what it was, so took a picture hoping I could ID him. I'm relieved to hear they are harmless. Here it is on my finger (your photo is amazing btw considering how tiny the chiton is and the vivid detail you got.....mine is a plain old crappy phone shot):

AND here is the frag he was crawling on (a small beauty from Cherry Corals):

Yep, it's all good - enjoy your critter. Now that you know what it is, check your tank after lights out and you may spot quite a few of them on the rockwork.
