Overall the reef is doing well. Corals are growing and stinging each other as they seek space. I'm intentionally growing some cyano bacteria for an upcoming video on treatment. The tank is pretty overall, but needs some additional cleaning to make it look the way I prefer it. For now, the glass is swiped to keep the film algae off of it, but I'd like to tinker, remove some stuff and clean the area between the sand and the glass. All the Vortech wetsides need to be soaked and cleaned.

The big project that has been pending for some time is the 265g poly tank. It needs to be cleaned and refilled so I can start making some new saltwater and get a water change done. The last water change was probably December, and it's April!

Spock seems hungry all the time, but I'm trying to resist throwing food her way constantly. She's a big fish and I think responding to her demands would result in worse behavior on her part and perpetuate a cycle.

The skimmer's collection cup was thoroughly cleaned and the ATO reservoir refilled. I checked Alkalinity last night, and it was around 10 dKH. The Staghorn acropora continues to grow in mass. I'm going to have to pull out a tape measure to figure out its span.

I'm still waiting for my QD upgrades for the Vortech pumps, as are a number of my customers. Hopefully they ship out this week, finally.

I too am waiting for the quiet drive upgrades. I have one of the mp40 QDs (which I incredibly won in a raffle at ReefStock Denver!) and I have experimented putting the new driver on ES pumps and yes its every bit as good as you've imagined!!

Whats you're feeling regarding your AlK being 10? Mine is right up around there and Im really considering slowly lowering it mostly because a lot of the beautiful tanks I see report around 7.5-8. Do you consider 10 to be high?

Yeah, I don't like it running that high. I'm going to test everything today and see what the current numbers are.

Interesting, I liked to keep mine up at 9 to 10, if it dropped below 8 I started getting algae problems.
