Recent Addition.....Black Sun Polyps

Rate this Entry
I just acquired this piece at a frag swap I attended in Pennsylvania. The guy I got it from said that it loves light, but from what I have been reading, they tend to be more lower light/shaded creatures. I mounted them to a frag plug and put them in a cave for now. What do you guys think? Sorry for the crappy pics, they are in pretty deep, and there is food in the water column.

They are I believe. They are shaded, but he did say they love light.....

Well they look VERY nice!! I think NPC will tend to grow in shaded areas just because they don't have to compete for real estate with Light Loving Coral. In a closed loop system we can usually put them where "we" like and they do fine.

What do you add to the tank as far as coral (NPC to be exact) food? I bet they will LOVE some meaty mysis as a treat

Mysis, cyclopeez, plankton, prawn eggs, and a blend of cod ,shrimp, clams, scallops, squid, oysters, and salmon roe

EDIT: I also add Reef Pure Ultimate Snow a couple times a week with feedings.
