MACNA 2010 App (Unofficial)

Rate this Entry
MACNA 2010 will be my third MACNA. I have had a great time each year and I always learn something new at the presentations. My favorite thing about MACNA is the vast knowledge that is available by going to the talks, but it can be difficult to pick the presentations you want to go to. I created a free app for my webOS (Palm Pre or Palm Pixi) phone that will help to plan which talks to go to.

The "Unofficial MACNA 2010 Schedule" app will show a schedule of the presentations occurring each day and within each room. You can open the description of each presentation to also see a biography of the speaker. If you are interested in going to that presentation, simply check the box to highlight it on the schedule. Highlighted presentations are marked green on the schedule so you can quickly identify the ones you are planning to attend.

Click here if you would like to download the app. There is a form on the page to send the listing to your phone so you can download it easily.

    very neat.

Is there a chance of MACNA being held in St. Louis in 2011?

mro2you2, I don't know... I'm not affiliated with MASNA or ORCA. I guess the chance is as good as any, but clubs have to submit a bid to host the show.

MASNA has just accepted the Greater Iowa Reef Society (GIRS) bid to host the 2011 MACNA

I wish people filmed the talks at MACNA for those who can not go. My club (PMASI) did this when MACNA was here and then sold the videos later.

That is awesome!!! I'm downloading it now. Great idea.

EDIT: Make one for the iPhone!!!

lol, you iphone users get everything... Want to trade Angry Birds for my app?

Honestly, the barrier for entry into development on the iphone is tough because apple requires developer fees. For a free app, I can't justify the fee.

Very cool! As someone VERY active with MACNA 2010 and a AVID WebOS user I love this!

@Macna2010 - Excellent, I am glad there are other people just as excited about webos as I am. I should have made it soon than I did. It only took 4 evenings to put together.

I'm a long time Palm user and bought the Pre the day it was released. My wife has a Pixie as well.

I put MACNA in touch with a iPhone app person. Maybe we'll get one after all.
