I recall a thread somewhere here or from Drummer's Reef 180 build where someone mentioned that while using bio pellets they try to keep alkalinity near 8.0 dkh? Can't find the info. What was the thought behind that?

I recently found my alkalinity went to 6.1 dkh. I dosed within a few hours to bring to 7.1 in a 24 period. Will dose again to bring to 8.0 ish... So, I was cleaning the tank this morning and was saddened to see my Sally Light Foot Crab "belly up" on the bottomI know invertebrates are often sensitive to ph and alk swings.... Am slowing learning what this animal needs to be happy.... For example,
Enough flow to support itself. In good flow now, as in low flow it seems to sag as if to heavy.
I've had it for few years and quite slow growing? Not sure why?
My question, note the right edge in the pic, it continues day after day to not quite extend tentacles/polyp thingy's. What is it saying?

Picked up a few Acropora SPS corals and want to know more about identification? Does anyone recognize and/or know the Id ? Perhaps origin waters? Seller didn't have this information.

I used to drop in to ReefHotSpot a few miles from LAX to pickup a coral or two. Noticed their website said, under construction. Well, I took a drive and found that "under construction" meant LITERALLY .... Empty warehouse all tanks gone, building for rent. Spoke to a guy inside and he said his buddy bought the biz.
