Filter sock questions

by David W on 03-26-2011 at 06:15 PM
Hey i have had a filter sock for about a month now and i have been just running it under water. It doesn't seem efficient enough because it still has a blackish tint to it. I have read to turn it inside out then wash it with bleach in a washing machine. I want to know the most efficient way in cleaning a filter sock please. Thanks all.

Return Pump Advise

by David W on 01-01-2011 at 05:58 PM
Hey fellow addicts. I got a new 55 gallon pre drilled tank and stand that came with two holes in the bottom of the tank and came with two bulkheads and pipe. I have it all set up and need to figure what return pump I should get. Any advise? The overflow hole is 1.5" and the return is 1''.

Reef Koi Evolution LEDs

by David W on 11-17-2010 at 08:28 PM
I have been looking at Evolution LEDs. I have a standard 48l 12w 21h 55 gallon tank. Could I make way with two of these fixtures or would I need three? Are these even powerful enough for clams, sps, and softies? Sorry for all the questions. Here's a link if you want to read more about the fixture. Or could I make due with one Evolution LED 200w fixture.
