You need to upload your images somewhere. You can attach images to the main blog entry by clicking the picture frame icon in the editor, and if you are trying to add a picture in a comment / reply field, you can only post the URL to where it is hosted. Free sites like Photobucket allow you to upload and share those images on multiple sites.

You can add images in your own Gallery here on RA, and then under the image there will be a URL to copy and paste into your blog entries.

Can you over skim a reef aquarium?

by Articfox32 on 04-02-2013 at 11:07 AM
I am still in the middle of purchasing equipment for my 195 build, and also moving in with my girlfriend. I have a 195 gallon DT and in basement I will be having a
48 x 24 x 18 tall sump working with about 50 gallon constant capable of holding 85 gallons along with a separate 90 gallon as a Refugium. I am planning on purchasing a super reef octopus 6000 ext protein skimmer, used for tanks up to 600 gallons. Would I be safe or would I be over skimming? If I am over skimming would that be

Dosing pump

by Articfox32 on 03-29-2013 at 12:53 PM
I have had my 60 gallon cube tank up and running for the last 4 months, I am stocking the tank with LPS and SPS. Ph is constantly at 7.8-7.9 while the last alkalinity test is around 4.5-5 DKH. Will adding a dosing pump while dosing calcium, alkalinity and mag help bring up my ph to there proper levels. I am looking for a more stable way of keeping

by Articfox32 on 01-23-2013 at 06:19 PM
Question for all the addicts using a Refugium. If there is algae starting to grow in the Refugium on the glass, will adding a turbo snail in help with keeping it under control? Will they leave the cheato alone?

Filter socks or no filter socks???

by Articfox32 on 01-09-2013 at 02:15 PM
Are filter socks worth having in a sump to catch what comes out of the drain line? My sump is running with a bio pellet reactor, reef octopus skimmer, phosban reactor, Refugium with LR, deep sand bed and cheato. Should I keep using the filter sock or run without it? Anyone with thought, I would like to hear them...

195 build

by Articfox32 on 01-01-2013 at 08:27 PM
have been really busy lately working and working on my new build. I have a 195 gallon starphire 3 sided tank covered by solid figured cherry.

The steel stand I built from 2" steel with 6 3" leveling feet. Each foot will hold up to 15,000 lbs.

The tank is sitting ontop of a 1.5 inch cherry butcher block top. After reading marcs write up
