I just added 3 tuxedo urchins and they are eating this stuff. So thanks all for the help. I may add Mexican turbos if the urchins cant keep up. thanks for the help.

Im all about trying natural methods. An ideas on type of urchin?

A couple of instant solutions: Remove a rock and dip it in Peroxide for 10 seconds, then rinse it off in saltwater and put it back in the tank. Dip, roll, lower it into the solution.... baste the area in question.

With all the flow off, you can filling a syringe with Kent's Tech-M and baste one area that bothers you. After 5 minutes restart your pumps to get that stuff dispersed. You'd have to do a little bit each day rather than all at once because you don't want to overdose your tank with Mg nor burn nearby corals.

Think this through, and come up with a game plan.

Still think Mexican Turbo snails and an urchin would help.

nope burgundy. Although my tank does have a blue hugh. it is not as blue as he pick.

With normal lighting, is it pink? I would put in a few of the huge Mexican Turbo snails.

It does not blow off. It is attached. O just checked phosphates. 0.0 on my hana checker. I run GFO, BIOpellets, and activated carbon. I have 6 t5 on the tank (about 2-3 months old.) I do 10 to 15% water change about every 2 weeks. My ph is always about 7.9. My calk and alk swing to much because I Forget to dose. I feed my tank/fish about 3 days a week. not a lot. I think that covers it.

Can you blow it off with a turkey baster or is it attached? Looks like a hair algae to me. I would snag margarita snails or mexican turbo snails. More than that though, I would found out what is feeding it's growth.

Tell us about your tank, it's bioload and maintenance habits.

ill try. It grows close to the rock. and It is a Burgundy color.

can you get a little clearer pic of it with less blue?

Thanks. I appreciate that coming from you. Yes the glass is 1/4" but it is not tempered. It is fine with the weight.

The legs are pvc with caps. I did not have enough acrylic lying around so I used glass. I cut slots thru the caps (with the pipe instaled) about 2/3 thru. Then I inserted the corners of the glass into the slots. I did not want to use glue because I did not want to wait for it to dry. It was not needed. To atach the glass and pvc beter I drilled and taped the caps so I could lock it down for with a nylon bolt. I cut thru the cap and pipe so the pressure from the bolt does not separate the pipe and the cap. all the pvc was 1.5 inches. any questions?

I was told 150 heavy stocked. My tank is not evev close to heavy and it pulls some serious sludge.

Looks great. What amount of water is the Extreme 160 rated for? How did you keep the legs attached to the acrylic?
