Bubble Magus NAC-5E Protein Skimmer.

Rating: 2 votes, 5.00 average.
I was hoping someone could confirm whether or not the Atman PH-2000 Needle Wheel Pump on the Bubbles Magus NAC-5E Protein Skimmer can be used inside of water? This Protein Skimmer was designed to be used inside of the aquarium but because of the space restrictions on my new aquarium design I need to place it standing inside the sump. I would like to know for certain before I do this. If anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated.

Most skimmers that are designed to be run externally can be run in water, unless the pump is an external-only pump (like the Sequence Reeflo pumps like Dart, Snapper, Barracuda). The pump you pictured looks like one that can be used in water.

Thank you for the input! I guess I will give it a try when the other parts I ordered come in.

You may have to play with what water level that skimmer can stand in.

I myself would not get the pump wet. I would check the instructions and see if it says anying about it. It could get ugly fast if it gets wet even if with overspray.

I am trying to get confirmation from the company (I'm hoping to have an answer by Monday). If I cannot get it wet I will start looking at other options for a Protein Skimmer. Thank you for the recommendation.
