the pellets are vertex. i have only used about 250ml in my 200g set up. i had to run gfo to help with the gha, when that's done i'll use pellets in both. the fish stores up here aren't real good at ordering things. i ordered some zeobak to help start the pellets, 2 months later it comes in, and the kid sold it to someone off the street. i'm now waiting for the next shipment to come in.

they are tumbling slower now. never seen a good video of how fast there supposed to tumble.

that sounds too fast, how many ml did you add, they look like the brs or eco bak pelltes?? when you have to much flow your blowing the bacteria off them.

it's tumbling nicely. that's why it looks overfilled. when it's off there's only about 3" in the bottom.

the reactor for the pellets looks lil over filled, is it tumbling properly. the key i have found to the pellets working properly is to make sure they tumble with the right amount of flow, not to fast or not too slow just enough to keep them fluid.

Doesn't the reefkeeper use standard rj11 connectors if I remember correctly?

it a whole house filter, with a insert i bought off of shawn baker i think. used for refillable carbon. i just took out the sponges and used plastic mesh. i'm also using one for the gfo, but it seems to clump more.

Nice looking system, What did you use to make your biopellet reactor?

the extension cord is my temp auto top up. i've been trying to order a 30' patch cord for my reefkeeper but no store around here ever orders it. i ran some phone cable upstairs for the switch, but until i get the cord i can't put a pc4 down there.

well i fired up the old pump and get around 400gph. for now it's a start. i have to throttle down the overflow because the 1 1/2" drain is way more than the pump, it was just clearing out the overflow, then waiting. really loud. i do have another 1 1/2" that's my emergency and is wide open so there's no problem if the regular drain get's clogged.
the sump works well, no bubbles, lots of volume. the ref has a really low flow, and tons of space, although right now it's full of cheato.lol
the skimmer went crazy when i hooked it back up, but only for a few hours, thank god i did alot of water changes when it wasn't running. hopefully tonight i'll be able to catch the damsel from my dt and send him to fishy jail, but he's a real pain to catch. i have an extra di cannister i'm going to use as a fish trap. i'll drop in some shrimp, tie some fishing line on it and drop it in the tank. mabye he'll go in and i can raise it up.

Wow, you've been through a lot Mark. Found a new job yet? Watch out that the cheato doesn't get stuck in the powerhead(s).

Okay, why is Donald Trumps hair in your display tank My sump is a floor below my display as well.. Currently using a Pan World 50Px-x as a return. Serious head pressure, however, only creating low flow through the sump... Maybe 350gph if I'm lucky.

Just remember, anticipation is 95% of the journey.

We got 8" of snow the week before thanksgiving, followed by 4 days of freezing rain, followed by -30F temps. 3' of snow sounds pretty nice by comparison.

i'm a union carpenter so that would be no problem. my wife's parents are from penn and she still has family there.
just have to work on a green card. then vegas for sure.lol
snow is something you should get on a plane to see. it should not come to you.

Hey, there are more jobs available in Tx then any other state! ;-)

Texas practically shuts down when we get any amount of snow that sticks, and the people here can barely drive in heavy rain... so be careful what you wish for, haha.

i figured by the time i go up one floor, and take into account the turns, valves, y's i'll be down where i need to. i also have 4 returns of 3/4 lockline in my tank.
