  2. 50W LED Build

So a couple weeks ago i bought a 50W led array off ebay. I ordered the LED and Driver combo and a separate heatsink and 90 degree optic. The LED was listed as 20k color...... but its a cheap ebay LED so i dunno how accurate that color rating is. The parts were shipped from hong kong so it took a couple weeks to get here. I just got around to slapping it all together except for a power source for the heatsink fan. Its wicked bright and the color of the light looks bluish its definitely not real yellow. ...

  3. Delays, Delays, Delays....

Doesn't it seem like every time you finally have the money saved up to upgrade to new equipment or buy supplies for the tank, that something pressing comes up that you have to spend the money on instead?? I posted a couple weeks ago about a new 125 I was setting up. Things haven't been going that well with the set up. I am trying to take time to make sure I get everything done the right way first time, but also I am trying to get money together to buy a good protein skimmer, a few media reactors, ...

So I am trying to figure out the best way to set up the closed loop on my new tank. Here is a sketchup model of how the tank is currently drilled/plumbed.

I want to use all four 1" bulkhead as outlets for the closed loop, so I am thinking about drilling another hole as the inlet for my iwaki. Like this.

  5. Working on the new tank.

So i started cleaning the tank today and evaluating where the tank will be set up. The tank has four 1" bulkheads on the back for the closed loop, and when the tank was taken down the closed loop piping was just sawed off in the bulkheads. I will have to get new bulkheads but before I do I am wondering if I should drill the holes out for bigger bulkheads? I have never run a closed loop, and I am planning on running my Iwaki md-100rlt for the closed loop pump. Does this sound reasonable at 1" ...
