The fumes aren't a problem. You don't even notice unless you stick your head in the sump. Yes, old Vortech magnets are perfect for this. I had Ecotech send me some rejects a while back, and used some old ones I had and a couple I got from my lfs.
are they the magnets from the vortech power heads? Interesting.
Me and Phil honed in on the same things. Leave it to Marc to use power head mags to hold acrylic to the jig.
I like the home-made 90's with the hocky pucks that I'm assuming are magnets. Cool idea! I'll probably copy that for my own shop. Where did you get the big magnets? Oh, and the sump is shaping up well too. Any chance you could post a sketch of the final layout?

because your doing that in your living room (because its too cold outside, and there isnt much room in the garage) does the solvent effect your parameters on your temporary holding system? i have heard that painting will, as well as it being Winter and there isnt as much CO2 exchange during those months, i wasnt sure if the weldon would. thanks, and it looks good!!!

I contacted the second company to find out where my order was since it was placed on Jan 4th, and got an email response that it will be here Thursday. I'm gone this weekend, so I'll be plumbing the system next week.

looks great, Marc. My system was pretty similar. Well executed, but I'm sure you'd like more space above the rack. Have you considered raising the ceiling?
Yes, Brett (Drummereef) does have the same rack and rolling track system. He hide his wires inside some of the track too - it was a beautiful set up. Several DFWMAS members I know used the EzTube system to create their light racks. dahenley - thanks, I'll have to check it out. I already considered the black acrylic for areas that need a solid surface, but didn't decide if I was going to add fans or not. I'll have to check it out.
Hey Marc, check out GlassReef.com. he used this same method, but used some special strips for the wires to run through. that way it keeps everything looking so nice and sweet. (he also installed acrylic panels around the perimeter of the rack and installed some fans to help keep everything cool. just an idea, and it never hurts to see how others did theirs.) and its looking good
