  1. Podcast #5 coming soon

Working our booth today, we interviewed a number of vendors. Those videos are going to be appearing on our YouTube channel over the next few hours and days. The processing involved in importing, editing and exporting as well as upload time to YouTube - it all takes time, and we are going to need more minions to be able to do that at the show. We're hoping to streamline this somewhat, and practice will only make us better. It's really challenging to try to edit when people continue to come up ...

  2. West-bound at last.

I'm sitting on the plane, about to fly to southern California for the weekend. Ed, Jessy and I will meet up later today to set up the Reef Addicts booth for the MAX event. The weather should be pretty nice, in the mid 60s... Watch for updates as things unfold.

Recently, I needed some actinic VHO bulbs for my tank. A found a couple of people in my local club ( www.dfwmas.org ) that needed the same kind, and we did a quick group buy from Marine Depot. Ordering 6 bulbs at once guaranteed free shipping, which is a plus. The order was placed on Wednesday and shipped out the same day. They arrived in a huge triangular box today in perfect condition.

I was very happy to install them tonight, and the blue really popped in my tank. My older bulbs ...

  4. Bald skulls are out, dress 'em up!

They say for everything thing out there, there's a buyer. Will that hold true with this prize? Here's a guy who's dog swiped a toy from the kid next door, and he thought "Hey, I'll grow some coral horns on it, and people will buy it!"

Assuming that's true, we have to document the pictures here in case it sells and is never seen again.

  5. I won't lye, it works (tentatively speaking)

Usually whenever I hear some new idea, I'm pretty cautious and resist the urge to proceed until I get more information. However, this time I just ran with it. Pretty out of character, right? Part of the reason is because the stuff recommended is no stranger to this professional stripper.

So here's the premise. Mix up lye (Sodium hydroxide) with water, and attack those pest anemones. Sounds simple, and it's cheap!

20 years ago when I started stripping, I used ...
