Im curious as to your opinion of the SmartATO device is, sounds like it has some flaws. I saw it at MACNA and it definitely peaked my interest. Maybe a topic for a blog post a few months down the road

Seems you are getting know Mr. Murphy as well as I have gotten to know him over the years.

At least you are back on the right track.

    Sorry to hear the losses

Marc, I think this would be an excellent thing to address directly with Prodibio at MACNA. During research for using standard vials on a nano I felt the consensus was that the "clean" products couldn't be overdosed and would have no negative effect on the system.

No, nothing is new or different internally.

Marc have you sprayed the house for bugs or anything unusual with some type of cleaning agent possibly? If that was the case a good water change, carbon, and good skim should help in a hurry.

I turn off the skimmer, remove the carbon, and dose RedCyano Rx. It does its thing for 72 hours, and if the cyano isn't gone, I'll dose again. If it is gone, I'll do a water change and resume skimming, and run fresh carbon. This is what I use (and hence sell): http://www.melevsreef.com/node/62

The two interactive services that my company uses are Total Connect 2.0 by Honewell and Alarm.com which is used with the GE or ITI products. Both of those have to trouble conditions in the Notifications tabs when you are on the website. I am fairly certain other manufacturers would also.

Interesting - that's a good idea guys. I'll check to see if that is an option with my home alarm system. It has two cameras that allow me to check on the system when I'm away.

I have a couple of wireless IP camera's in my house that notify me via email when they power on as well as notifications like Midnight says. I like having a "wired" home... As long as nobody hacks into anything!

Marc, Do you have an updated security system in your home that allows you to arm and disarm from your phone. If so, you will most likely be able to set a email notification from there that will let you know when power goes off and on again. hope this helps

I wonder if this algae is the same I have growing on my glass? I've always thought that it was green coralline.

Weird.I've had coral turn white and then yellowish green. Then eventually get covered in coraline but never starting out green like that.

Hopefully you figured it out. There is nothing more discouraging than watching your reef start to go downhill for unknown reasons.
