  1. A rainy Sunday blog

Overall the reef is doing well. Corals are growing and stinging each other as they seek space. I'm intentionally growing some cyano bacteria for an upcoming video on treatment. The tank is pretty overall, but needs some additional cleaning to make it look the way I prefer it. For now, the glass is swiped to keep the film algae off of it, but I'd like to tinker, remove some stuff and clean the area between the sand and the glass. All the Vortech wetsides need to be soaked and cleaned.

  2. Safety Stop video

I've been using Safety Stop for all new fish purchases over the past two years. Here's a video showing the process.

  3. Gudgeon Gobies

I recently released a few more anthias and gudgeon gobies into the reef. Here are two of the six gobies. The new fish were bathed in Safety Stop last Saturday and then placed in the Peacemaker for a few days - my usual procedure.

And then last night in total darkness I spied the tiger cowrie on the front glass, so I had to get a few pictures. These came out pretty nice considering I was shooting in the dark.

  4. Happy skunks

The Orange skunks are adding some nice activity right in the front of the reef. These pictures are a little bigger than usual, so I'm attaching them as thumbnails. Click on them for the bigger version.

  5. Website update

For the past few days, I've been working with a guy that helped resolve some serious issues ReefAddicts was suffering from. People are reading the content daily, but there were problems. Well over 2500 bogus user accounts had been created, and an ongoing exploit was redirecting people elsewhere when they googled some topic that would have brought them here.

I'm happy to announce all that has been resolved. Exploits have been eradicated, security patches installed, those "users" have ...
