Thanks for the info! I'll check with my LFS to see if they can do it. I don't recall seeing any Vortech's on their tanks or shelves.

I'll have to try again some time. It would be nice if the camera got it right.

I put one in the 60g and three in the 400g. Picture added above. One conch per 2' x 2' area is best.

The ReefLink is still communicating with Radions at this time. And it has updated the firmware within itself as well as within the Radion fixture. It should be able to do the same for Vortech pumps when they all start working in unity. That will be great.

For now, to update an older Mp40w ES, you can take your driver to another hobbyist's home or to your LFS to get it updated. Or you can mail your driver to Ecotech to get it updated, and then use it to update any other pumps you have. A couple of years ago, I took one of mine with me to MACNA so they could do it for me. Easy Peasy, right? I've not had to do it in a while, so I forgot the procedure but I'm sure the documentation is a few keystrokes away.

Is the Reeflink Vortech compatible yet?

Also, do you know if it is able to update the firmware of other devices? For example, would it be able to update my MP40wES pumps from 2010? Or can I still only do that with a new Vortech?

When I had my 180g set up, I would take photos every now and then with the VHO actinics only. I have a D5000 and sometimes I would get the "No gd" error. In order to make it work, I had to do my manual white balance setting with a white plastic card that I had to put behind the glass, and I filled the viewfinder with the card. It didn't work all the time, but it worked sometimes. My only guess was that with the extreme blues the glass shifted the light enough to cause problems, but I don't really have a clue.

Great pictures! Did you put four Fighting conchs in each tank? Or two and two, or three and one?

Killer pics Marc. Thanks for the lightroom suggestions too. I'm going to get a remote trigger for my Cannon. Just a tripod is not enough for me.

The tank gets about three hours of 20,000K daily all the way across. It's all blue at the moment. I'm using TwinArcs. I may replace them with 12,000K-20,000K bulbs if those are an option.

For whatever reason, the macro algae has continued to grow. I expected it to die off, but then again I do feed a lot, several times a day. If all the macro had died, I probably would turn this zone into a cryptic zone: all live rock, no light, and let it do its thing.

Looking great as usual. One question I have for you, I have seen in the past but never thought to ask, you run a Biopellet reactor and a Fuge, some say they are counterproductive? What are your thoughts on the subject?
