  1. Acclimimation of a fish

CPR sent me out their First Aid Deluxe Kit earlier this year, and recently I acquired a lawnmower blenny for the frag tank at the recommendation of a club member. I've been dealing with some algae in that tank and the hermit crab, emerald crab, red legged crab and a few snails weren't keeping up.

I figured I'd give the First Aid acclimation kit a try. Hooking it up on the edge of the frag tank was easy.

  2. Treat your tank sitter right!

Less than two months ago, my tank sitter's reef crashed. A RBTA was devoured by a vortech pump, and the nematocysts wiped out everything. Some were small, others bigger. It helped both clear out some space in my reef and keep him ...

  3. It lives!

The $80 starfish continues to live. I had to make some space in the refugium for it to get easier access to the sandbed, even though you'd think with five arms it could figure out how to push some leaves out of the way to get where it wants to go.

  4. To catch you up on some newsy stuff while the site was down...

Let me start off with a random happening first of all. When I was cleaning the filter socks a few weeks ago, I dumped the bleach-water solution out on the deck. Well, it appears that a squirrel was under the deck since his entire body is now white while his tail is bushy brown still. Crazy, but true.

At MACNA, I got my very first plastic jug. All these years I've used the water cooler bottles, so this ...

  5. Day 210: 7 months old

As this day draws to its conclusion, I couldn't let it pass without mentioning it turned 7 months old today. 30 weeks of TLC and for the most part it has down very well.

Here's a couple of pictures from above, showcasing the double-thick Eurobracing of the Marineland custom-made 400g tank.
