We throw ours in the washer with a little bleach. Good as new. we usually do about 30 socks at a time. Made them all for about $10 from some felt we got at walmart. they work great.

No, but I was feeding Oyster Feast to the suncoral frag tank, and it was just enough to kick it into gear and take residence in a few spots. Plus, as I indicated I noticed the flow was down in the tank which is why I started cleaning everything to get things back to 100%.

I buy it at Kroger, our supermarket. If you ask for Muriatic acid (or maybe Hydrochloric Acid?) at Home Depot, they sell it 2 1-gallon bottles in a box out in Lawn & Garden. Walmart and Kroger have it in the pool section.

where do you get your HCL? and what brand is it, i was at homedepot and i told them what it was for...they guy thought i was nuts then he said they didnt have it

Yes, it's a 4" DSB. I like deep sand beds. I forgot to mention that I ran a credit card between the sand and the glass to clean up that area that always looks dirty, trapped against the viewing panel. I do this about once a month.

I was just talking to my wife about an auto feeder. She has just gone back to work, so we are both gone now for 7 to 10 hours of the day. I have watched my ball of chaeto go from softball sized to golf ball sized. Which tells me the fish are probably getting hungry and shouldn't have to go that long without food. I did not see this item in the reef shop Marc. Are you planning on selling this type of product regularly?

I have one of those, would love to get a chimney like that. Have the same problem with food floating and going to the overflow before being eaten. You still don't ship USPS internationally, right? If you change your mind, I'd like to order one...

Those are the final product, sorry. I used velcro underneath, directly under the Eheim feeder's motor/body. The second half of the velcro is secured to a clean dry area of glass to get a good bond. Pressing the velcro together, it keeps the chimney bracket in place. Another piece of velcro holds the motor to the bracket so it won't be bumped loose with an errant elbow when tinkering in the tank or lighting.

How did you attatch the feeder to the acrilic?

you could also use the removable combs. they have a nice contact surface for the female part, so gluing them up is easy. I just really like being able to pull the comb, clean/soak, whatever, and replace. Having extra means you can swap and clean at your leisure.

No, it stays it it's zone quite nicely. From time to time you do need to trim it back and that is a good time to clean out the eggcrate of any accumulations.

Love your work Marc. That big sump is just amazing. doesn't macro or chaeto escape when using eggcrate instead of a honeycomb screen.
