  1. Bald skulls are out, dress 'em up!

They say for everything thing out there, there's a buyer. Will that hold true with this prize? Here's a guy who's dog swiped a toy from the kid next door, and he thought "Hey, I'll grow some coral horns on it, and people will buy it!"

Assuming that's true, we have to document the pictures here in case it sells and is never seen again.

  2. I won't lye, it works (tentatively speaking)

Usually whenever I hear some new idea, I'm pretty cautious and resist the urge to proceed until I get more information. However, this time I just ran with it. Pretty out of character, right? Part of the reason is because the stuff recommended is no stranger to this professional stripper.

So here's the premise. Mix up lye (Sodium hydroxide) with water, and attack those pest anemones. Sounds simple, and it's cheap!

  3. Time to change your RO/DI filters?

Is it time to change your RO/DI filters? I date my system each time they are changed out, to help me keep track. They should be changed every six months, so I'm actually a month late in doing so. Whoops. However, the TDS reads zero, so there's no reason to worry, right?

    Wrong.

After turning off the water source and opening the valve after the system to bleed off the pressure within, I removed ...

  5. Vortech Rattling? This is the solution

When the Vortech pump starts rattling, the first thing to do is realign the motor with the wetside. If it goes back to silent, that's perfect. However, over time, the rattle may return and refuse to go away. When this happens, you need to replace a small part inside the wetside.

I had this problem recently with one MP40w, and obtained some new parts prior to beginning this little project. Having a local fish store with parts is ideal, but if you can't do that, they are now available ...
