This is a big problem with commercial pumps, like the building heating pumps I deal with. Typically they use a section of flexible hose, or a rubber ball type connector between the pumps and hard plumbing to help isolate the vibration. So, re-plumbing with sections of spa-flex or hose may help.

It is hard plumbed, perhaps that is a potential culprit. I have the pump on four rubber feet, and have felt pads on each of the feet.

nothing wrong with pump thats how they are. a computer mouse pad can work wonders even a lil towel rolled up.

You can get coraline from snails or anything, I wouldn't worry about that. Its the other stuff that comes from the live rock, is why I asked. A lot of people struggle starting with all dry rock. I would not use the aiptasia rock unless you have time to use shrimps or nudibranches to get rid of it. I would just find another source. I do like the way the rocks look in there though. I am guessing they are tied together in some way so they don't topple?

What RO/DI system do you have that produces water so slowly? What's the water temperature where you are?

I still need to get some. My LFS has it for sale... and its all covered in Aiptasia. I'd like to find some nuggets that I can use to seed coraline algea growth. I'd be open to any suggestions that you might have.

The fixture is a 24" 36W AquaticLife 1.0 Watt Expandable LED Light Fixture. I know its not the top of the line, but so far I'm pretty happy with it.

Now i understand what you were doing.

That skinny vessel would have been a great way to add top off water to the sump as evaporation occurs.

I'll have more hood pics in the next post. I just finished installing the lighting bracket in the hood. Waiting for the glue to dry before I install the lighting.

i just recieved 100lbs of key largo from marco and it looks great!

@ Midnight: I'll be using Marco Rocks for the aquscaping. I have some of their product that is flat on one side. I don't plan on building a wall, per se, but do plan on having the structure tighter against th back wall of the tank than I had in its first iteration.
