Neenah, it's been awhile, how is the tank coming?

I'm still undecided as to what lights to go with. I def want LEDs. Preferably DIY. Now if I could only find a good thread to follow on the right LED color mixture the right sunrise sunset high noon drivers. I'm open for suggestions

Now just get some lights over the tank and put some creatures in it!

Thank you, the skimmer is a C-Skim 1800. Great idea on chiseling the rock. Not sure if I can find a rock that big though. Eventually I hope to have lots of coral growing on that area. Zoas, mushrooms, star polyps, a good healthy mix would be great

looks good what kind of skimmer is that? hey ive got an idea for your overflow box why dont you cover it with coral like green star polyps? you could also buy a huge piece of dry like rock and chisel the shape of your overflow box in it and slip it over it like a sleeve

Wow the folks at Reeflo are AWESOME!! Turns out it was a cracked impeller that was causing the niagra falls leak. Reeflo overnighted the part and my pump should be back up and running tomorrow afternoon. I'm pretty impressed they spent the extra money for me to have the part on Saturday

Hmm I wish it was a quick fix like that. My pump is niagra falling - good thing my LFS is awesome and told me to bring it in they will ship it back and get me a new one ASAP

Mine leaked right out of the box as well. but it was due to a hole in the outter housing. It was a very small hole and I had to have the pump running ASAP. So I put a little bit of silicon over the little hole and no more leak. I really should get another outter housing just in case it starts leaking again.

Although Reeflo pumps are a great pump, you are not the first to get a leaky one out of the box. The good news is that the customer service at Reeflo is fantabulous from what I have heard. Certainly if you can exchange it same day at the LFS that would be ideal, if not contact Reeflo and they will make it right.

I would actually get a nice 12x12 piece of glass to cover all three at once
  17. NeenahFoxxe's Avatar
Phew! Yes It's smoked glass, I'll look into the glass holes overflows. I was trying to keep from drilling the tank to avoid potential leaks.
  18. melev's Avatar
If you decide to go with glass-holes overflows, you can use one of the overflow's pieces of glass to patch over those holes in the middle of the tank.
  19. melev's Avatar
Oh, the overflow is made of glass? Never mind. I thought it was arylic panels siliconed together. Still, as others have stated it will eat up the middle of your tank and make aquascaping problematic.

Eek! Now I'm scared! Yes it's a glass overflow box held by silicone.... Should I be worried??
