Im also from London and second BWI http://www.bwiplumbing.com/ i have never ordered from them but they seem to be a one stop shop, it should save you from having to run around...if your looking for cheap PVC fittings check out the TSC rather then homedepot or canadian tire, i find there prices are usually more reasonable...but dont quote me on that

bwi plumbing. check on aquarium pros and see. i'm in london and can get most of the fittings from a plastic store near me. do a search in the yellow pages for plumbing supplies. probably cheaper than a fish store.

Yeah, now I am been in IT for 18 years and I only know like two HTML tags. I guess it's time I learned a few more...like how to size pictures.

I try and keep my reef around the 79-80 mark. I will be sticking with captive bread tropical species so I know I have to keep the temp between 72-78. My basement is always very cool so I plan on running about 25 feet of pvc horizontally back and forth to cool the water off then direct it back up the 4 feet to the seahorse tank. It will be a slow flow, just enough to keep the water systems the same.

I agree with melev. Most seahorses don't like tank being that warm. Good luck with the move. I moved a 180 and only lost 10 gallons of water. If tank is on second floor, you can do like I did with my 90 gallon and use a garden hose lol. used a few garbage cans and it was pretty easy move. most reef tanks being kept at 78+ degrees that is.

In doing research, what species of seahorse did you find would be compatible with reef tank temperatures? Or perhaps I should ask what temperature do you keep your reef at?

Hearing that your daughter is interested is great. They are the next generation of reef keepers, after all.

I'm interested in seeing how you secured the float switches.

I installed one on my 50 gal a year ago. It's one of the best upgrades I've ever made. So nice to be able to leave town for a couple days and not worry about it.
