  1. Trying the EcoBak pellets

Ok, trying a new experiment since I am going all SPS. Trying to take the system to low nutrient and feed Oyster eggs, amino acids and the like. I just dumped all of my GFO out of my phosban reactor and added a can of the Warner Marine EcoBak ULNS pellets.

As you can see I trimmed some embroidery plastic mesh sheets to make a circle to replace the sponges on the top and the bottom. Word is that the sponges gets clogged up with the bacteria and what not.

    Then it says ...

  2. My ATO resovior - How to make the wife happy

My wife did not like a big tub sitting by the reef tank, making it quite unsightly. So here are a few pics of my top off reservoir holding. It is a wicker type basket with a Rubbermaid type container with a lockable lid on it. Holds about 10g. Being in the basket keeps light out, so no algae growth, and the lockable lid keeps out dust/particles/animal hair, etc. No need to have to clean the reservoir. 4. Gone Fishin'

    Gone Fishin'

Well, after about a week of having some new Tierra Anthias fish in my tank, the male anthias has turned out to be a bully. He chases my other fish, almost all of them, away from 'his side' of the tank. This include the female anthias, blue/green chromis, leopard wrasse, and others. He killed one of the female tierras due to harassment, and also a new Evansi anthias that I added to test out mixing the two. I decided this joker was going to have to be removed. I did ...

  5. OneReef's new 150g upgrade

After letting my 75g grow for almost a couple of years, I was getting bored with it and decided to move up for more coral to grow out and to add more and larger fish.
Hence, the decision to move up to a 150g. I would have liked to go bigger, but it was going upstairs and I didn't want to stress the floor more than necessary. After speaking to the homebuilder, he felt confident that the floor could support the weight. So I moved forward. I got Richard to custom order me a 150g with one ...
