  1. Midnight's 300g Build Concrete Day (warning lots of pictures )

    On Tuesday the concrete guys showed up to get the aquarium pad done and open up the brick wall.

    In preparation I had to move some old electrical and pull a fascia board from the top. To my pleasant surprise the brick stopped short of the ceiling, this meant that we could take down the whole wall and not support upper brick work.

  2. Melev's Boosted RODI Installed

    Today I installed the Boosted RODI unit (from Melev's Reef) and had the neighbor over to look at the garage. The neighbor is Mike Laforge who owns Pavement Pros and Concrete Solutions of the Carolina's in York, SC. He does exceptional work from standard driveways to concrete patios. If your in the Charlotte Metro and need concrete work I would highly recommend his work.

    I was in the new house last night doing some measuring and snapped a few pictures to show you guys where the tank is going.

    We don't officially close on the how until Thursday so I can not start demolition until after that.

  4. Concrete Day...

    Today was the day, after all the preparation. My son was awake and ready to start as soon as I showed up with the concrete mixer. He and I both knew it was going to be hard work, but I know that he now knows just how much concrete workers go through every single day.

    Here he is, ready to go. The mixer was a rental from Home Depot Tools, and could hold seven 80lb bags per batch. Look at that pile to his left.
