    Hello fellow reefers how is everyone doing. Just figures id put up a blob to see who else will be attending the 2012 LEAR frag swap on febuary 25th in strongsville Ohio! I know a few besides myself are going and it should be awesome!
  2. 40 gallon reef tank build

    here were my original ideas for my build that i posted on my local reef club forum

    I have a 40 gal tank that i once had setup as a frag tank. I took the tank down and im going to drill and sump it and setup a reef tank.

    I already have some of the equipment to get started and i only need a few more things to get it started, here is what i have.
    40 gal breeder and stand (all sides un tempered)
    quad t5 with leds
    mega flow model 1 sump
    heater
    about 30-40 ...

  3. Overflow - 700 GPH, 1500 GPH or something else

    I'm ready to order the overflow but wanted to get some input from some of you guys with more experience. After all I'm really liking the idea provided in one of my earlier blogs about using an MP-40 and maybe adding an MP-10 for flow over my planned use of a snapper hybrid (less electrical use and fewer holes in the tank). I've also just about talked myself into the AI Sol leds because they're more electrically efficient and if they last as long as advertised will be a significant savings in buying ...

  4. browned out coral update+some pics

    as you can see the coral is just showing signs of color, the green tips are definitly showing and the lighter parts are strating to go purple


    here is a frag that completly bleached on me when i got it, its now showing green base and pink polups

  5. Last night, I saw stars!

    As my vacation was coming to its conclusion, I looked up last night and was blown away by the vast number of stars I could see. It was dark, the moon was essentially new, and I was in the mood to try and capture a few images. I called up Jessy to remind me of the settings I'd need for my Nikon D90...
