    Take a second and think of a coral that can change the shape it grows in throughout its life? Yeah not many.

  2. Simple Solution to Removing Surface Film without an Overflow.

    Since my aquarium is sumpless, I don't have the added benefit of having the surface of the water constantly being skimmer from falling into the overflow to remove the surface scum that builds up in the aquarium. And rather than purchasing a surface skimmer that looks very unsightly, I though of a simple method that I can do to remove some of the film and hopefully over time get a handle on the situation. During my water change I would use tubing to siphon water from the aquarium into the container. ...

  3. 60g cube stand

    The new stand for the 60g cube arrived about 10 days ago. I ordered it from EzTube.com, and it was a very simple design.

    8) 22" square steel pipe, powdercoated
    4) 31" square steel pipe, powdercoated
    8) tri-corner pieces, heavy duty

    What I like about Ez-Tube is that they will cut everything, file the edges to remove any sharp burrs, and pack it carefully. Here are all the pictures. The only tool I needed was a rubber mallet to hammer it together.

  5. Power outage project update

    In my neighborhood, power goes out from time to time. It may be a few minutes, or an hour. About two or three times a year, it will go out for a longer period of time, which is precisely why I own a generator.
