  1. DIY top off kit from Aquahub

I recently added a separate sump to my FOWLR tank. Up until now I used a shared sump between my reef and fowlr. Now I was having to top off twice a day to keep the salinity right. So I decided to purchase a second top off kit from Aquahub since the first one I bought worked so well. By the way the reason I heard about Aquahub was from Reefcast!

  2. Clean-up Crews?

I'm looking for someplace to get clean up crews and detritus eaters to replenish my display and stock a new sump in the near future. I love the selection at Indo-Pacific Farms, but they won't ship to Alaska! Is there anywhere else that sells bristle worms and especially mini brittle stars? I'd rather not pay for shipping for several pounds of live sand and rock that may or may not have what I want still living in it. And since I'm adding it to an existing system I really don't want ...

  3. Metal Halide Heat

I'm looking for advice and opinion on what amount of water temperature rise is acceptable during an 8 hour metal halide lighting period. I have two, 250 watt mh installed in an enclosed canopy on my 70 gallon reef. I'm using two 4.5 inch fans for cooling which do a pretty good job, but I see steady water temperature increase of about 2/10ths of a degree per hour when the MH are lit. I have my temp controller set to maintain water (heater) temp between 77 and 78 degree f. The conroller is set to ...

  4. Breeding Phyto, Prods and Rotis

This was all driven by Melevs thread on breeding phyto

    The History
    Pods
We started breeding in our bio 29 gal that we installed a sump and fuge on (about 50gal of water). Every month we added 1 to 2 bottles of pods that we bought from "somewhere". We found that as long as we added phyto, the fuge was always alive.

When we upgraded to the 120gal with 300gal of water, we broken off some of the pods and seeded the system for about 4 months allowing

  5. Bald skulls are out, dress 'em up!

They say for everything thing out there, there's a buyer. Will that hold true with this prize? Here's a guy who's dog swiped a toy from the kid next door, and he thought "Hey, I'll grow some coral horns on it, and people will buy it!"

Assuming that's true, we have to document the pictures here in case it sells and is never seen again.
