  1. Copepod question

    I have tons of copepods in my refugium, it's to the point that there are little clouds of them swarming all over the place. It's pretty amazing, I can just stare at them and all of the other stuff in there as much as the display tank. I just don't see them in the display. I'm trying to figure out if they are numerous enough to add a mandarin. The tank was upgraded from a 2 year old 55 to the current 120 last summer, and the only other place I've seen copepods as dense as mine is at Inland Aquatics. ...

  2. In search of Copepods

    Over the past few weeks I have been attempting to boost my copepod population. I have a Blue Mandarin Dragonet and I want to make sure there is always enough pods for him to feast on. I have a refugium but it has not been absolutely buzzing with copepods. I should note that I do have a large population of amphipods both in the display tank and refugium.

  3. Preparing food with fresh seafood, Cyclop-eeze and nori

    Today it was 'cooking for my fishies' time :-)

    Last week I bought a fresh seafood pack at the market then froze it for a few days to kill pathogens. I unfroze it in the fridge from yesterday to today, and tonight ground it to a paste with some Cyclop-eeze, nori and some gelatin.

  4. Reef Munchies

    ok, so i'm not normally one to plug a product but i was at MAX a couple of weeks ago and I came across a booth that was selling a new food called reef munchies. According to the people at the booth the batches of the food are hand made and they use sushi grade food for each batch. The food is then freeze dried so you can keep it for long periods of time.   5. Tank Update

    I tried this new food from marine depot that says color enhancing and my Hippo tang is is the brightest I have ever seen it you ant see it good in the picture but but it really pops from across the room.

    talking about food. My columbian shark which I had in my previous freshwater tank eats about a full jar of formula one per month. I feed him the medium pellets because he doesn't even notice the other food.
