  1. Safety Stop - do you use it?

Yesterday our club held its Summer Social event: two air-conditioned chartered buses drove about 70 members around the metroplex to visit five local sponsors (fish stores). A lot of planning went into the event, and each store prepped for the sudden onslaught of potential customers pouring into their doors at once. I took plenty of pictures and will be sharing an upcoming blog about the entire day in the very near future.

As we left each store, some newly purchased livestock was carefully ...

  2. Update on My 75

Well, here is a short update of my 75. The reef is reaching the 1 ½ year mark and I am happy to report it is feeling just fabulous, and as healthy as a horse! I did get a bit lazy near the birth of my daughter and slacked on water changes. The tank and I suffered a heartbreaking loss; a small Acro frag decided to take the plunge into the big blue yonder by bleaching out. 1) Make my tank's info (Temp at the time) view-able WiFi and Cellular networks.

    2) I wanted to have all my equipment (Not just the lights and temp stuff) controllable.

    3) I was sick of my "Drawer" control board as the toll of pulling the drawer and dragging wires whenever I did it ...

  4. More Rock Structures with some yapping by yours truly

So as some of you know I make "Rock Structures", or however you name them (I've been corrected any number of times!). This is something I like to do, and it keeps me deeper in the hobby without burning me out. I wish I could say I am some type of savant in designing Rock Structures, but this would not be true. It takes me quite a bit of time to create these things to the point I think they look pretty decent. What do I mean by this? Well, believe it or not, I try to make it look as natural ...

  5. A Shrimp Tale

Once upon a time (OK last year) I had this shrimp and Gobi

He looked lonely so the King of this section of reef (Me) went out and got him a little companion. In time, the little guy grew to where he could be friends, or maybe more than friends with the older guy. In the beginning the King was worried because the little gobi was tiny and he was afraid he would be eaten.
The two gobies moved into the tunnel ...
