  1. Are you smart enough for this?

    I came across an interesting interview with Giacomo Bernardi, professor of ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of California, Santa Cruz, while listening to one of my favorite podcast, Science Sort Of..., and I wanted to share it with community at ReefAddicts. They talk about the unusual behavior of a particular wrasse that was observed in nature. It is the first fish ever reported to use tools!

  2. Firefish...

    I just added a common firefish to my tank. What can I expect in terms of behavior and habits?
    So far it's just been hanging out in front of a flow pump. I'm just glad it hasn't jumped out...
    It's eating well and not fighting. Do they adapt well to reef tanks...?
  3. Tank update

    Well it's been a while since I have wrote a tank update so here we go. I am still fighting the caulerpa outbreak in my tank but with regular trimmings and one of my newest tank addition (a yellow tang) it is starting to come under control a bit.

    My wife found that there was water magically appearing around the tank and after further investigation I discovered my pump was leaking that cycled water in my closed loop system. I have yet to get the time to try and figure out a new way of ...

  5. DIY 180g Stand build pics

    My Dad was in town over Xmas last year and helped me out with the finishing touches on the hickory stand I built for my 180g reef. I was pleased with how it turned out - matches the bathroom and kitchen cabinets and lends a little class to the basement while distracting guests from the ugly fish room behind the aquarium.
