  1. Macro Lens shots

    I thought about trying to get a reflection shot of my reef today, but it's not possible with this aquarium. The livestock is too far away from the surface, and the tank doesn't have enough front-to-back depth. So I changed my plan and shot with my 105mm macro lens.

  2. new fish addition

    So my girlfriend Emily loves boxfish. we have had a couple tries at it with longest lasting six months. i really do not like the fish because how hard they are to get eating.   3. Refugium algae

    Question for all the addicts using a Refugium. If there is algae starting to grow in the Refugium on the glass, will adding a turbo snail in help with keeping it under control? Will they leave the cheato alone?
  4. A much better look

    Two years ago, I was in the midst of wrapping up the construction of the new fishroom, getting it ready to set up the 400g. I did my best to keep the mess out of my livingroom with giant sheets of pink foam and plastic sheeting. The new sheetrock that faced the livingroom and dining area needed to be taped, textured and painted, but it was left unfinished.   5. Starting over

    After 6 + years of keeping an SPS dominated tank I have been forced to start over due to a slow and painful tank crash. I'm not quite sure what to attribute the crash to whether it was old tank syndrome (if that is even a real thing), two hurricanes and prolonged power outages with no generator, sheer size of my SPS colonies and my not being able to keep up with my ca2 or dkh demand are all viable possibilities etc etc.
