  1. Shade, please

Too much light spilling in from my refugium required me to do something. Since I'm totally out of black acrylic, I thought I'd get some coroplast at Hobby Lobby. However, they had none and stopped selling it. Wandering around the store, I found sheets of black foam 3mm thick, about the size of a placemat. Each sheet was $0.99, so I bought four.

I affixed it to the back of the refugium light with some velcro, ...

  2. Tank update and some new pics

I haven't updated my pics in a while, but I've been fighting with the tank a lot. I have had some issues with frags not growing, and even a complete lack of polyp extension in SPS with browning out too. On top of that I got a GHA outbreak. 5. The Refugium

Whats the overall consensus on cleaning the walls of a refugium??? While my tank is a little over 3 months old, I have some alga growing on the walls and over the divider into the center return section. I saw pix of Marc's refugium per the review of the Refugium LED Lighting system and it's crystal clear.

on mine, I've noticed that in amoungst the algae thats growing on the sides, are pods and little creatures. Am I inviting trouble in scraping the sides down and clearing out the ...
