  2. high ph

    For the longest time my ph has been impossible to keeep up at 8.2 and we had to add buffer every day. we changed buffers and now the ph seems to be 8.6 or higher and doesnt seem to want to come down...
    What should we use to lower the ph slightly???

  3. At last, the big tank is back

    The 400g arrived yesterday, and this morning I uncrated it as I awaited all the volunteers that offered to help bring it inside. I purchased bottled water, sodas, snacks, and even had cash to give to all my helpers, but they declined that latter offer.

    It was carefully crated, and I took out about 100 screws to remove the plywood walls protecting it during its trip to my house.

  4. Complete tank restart and LED light upgrade

    As many of you know I had decided to do a restart on my tank and correct earlier mistakes/lack of knowledge from when I started my tank 2 years ago. Several of my corals were dead or dying and I had placed corals into my tank that I later realized was a mistake (Xenia, blue clove polyps, ect...) I looped my pump return from my sump back into my sump again, kept the skimmer running, maintained a constant temperature, maintained choeto in the refugium, and kept the biopellet reactor operational to ...

  5. Finally back in hobby

    Having been out of hobby for a couple of years i'm finally back with a Red Sea Max 130D and external Eheim filter and Vecton UV unit.

    I rescued the tank from ebay and it was a mess with hair algae and very dirty conditions.

    Sadly one of the clowns didn't survive the move but all else incl boxer shrimp did and all happy now just tested tank tonight and all parameters good and phophates down to from originally .64 to a better .08
