  1. new addition to my tank. neon green bubble tip anemone

    went by the local fish store today and they had a green bta for sale and i just had to pick it up, i have had acclimation issues with one of my long tentacle anemones so i took extra care into this one, after about 3 and half hours of acclimating, i placed him in the tank and seems to love it, within 10-15 minutes he seemed to be fully attached at his foot, and his oral disc fully extended, witch is about 6 and ahalf inches in diamater, i amveryy happy with the new addition pictures will follow ...

  2. Working on the concrete (water heater plumbing)

    Over the weekend, I tackled a relatively small project that turned into an exhausting task. The copper pipe that comes up out of the slab foundation feeds the water heater, and it had to be relocated. To do so, I had to cut out the concrete around those pipes, which allows for the necessary alterations that get the water heater completely out of the way once and for all (I hope!).

    I rented a concrete cutting saw, and walled off the fishroom from the living room.

  3. melevs over flow box question

    This message is directed at melev but if anyone else knows great.

    I am building an over flow box from his design here http://www.melevsreef.com/acrylics/overflow.html

    so the siphon hose from the top will go to my maxi jet 900 that will be in the tank, now from my understanding of how it works the maxi jet will pull the air out of the enclosed area to create a siphon and cause the water to flow into and through the over flow box.

  4. I can sell my fluval g6

    So I got the go ahead from the woman to sell the Fluval G6!
    Was an awesome gift but just doesnt fit in with my design. So I listed it on ebay, will see how it goes!

  5. Changing Salt Brands

    I have decided to abandon the Oceanic Salt that I have been using since my 150g tank has been set up. I have found that the calcium levels are just too high for my tastes. It is staying up at around 460-470ppm, even with my calcium reactor turned down to bare minimum drip and bubble count. Oceanic is known to have high calcium levels, so to bring it down I am switching to a new salt that has come onto the market in the last year. It is Seachems AquaVitro Salinity.
