  1. What dosing Reefbooster looks like (Video)

I've been dosing Prodibio's products in my tank since February 2011. Three years, already? It's almost hard to believe.

I have an article abut how I dose here on ReefAddicts: http://www.reefaddicts.com/content.p...dibio-Products

The one substance I've just not embraced is Reefbooster. It just makes me nervous, plain and simple. It's their microfood, and they highly recommend it. Every year at MACNA the owner of ...

  2. More peppermints?

More shrimp activity had me hovering around the 60g with my camera in case I could capture the actual release as it happened this time. While I watched and waited, I took a few more pictures.

This fungia plate is part of a siamese arrangement. Two grow on the same skeleton and eventually compete for traction. This one bubbled up like this for about a week, and I had to wonder how it would play out. The day after I took this picture, this bubble was gone as was all the tissue. I have ...

  3. Where does the power go?

That's a good question, and any hobbyist that has been reefing for a while begins to try to figure out what the tank costs them, electricity-wise. I've done a couple of blogs pertaining to the 280g reef, found here: http://www.melevsreef.com/labels/electricity.html

My overall estimate for the 400g is about $85 per month, but it may be worth figuring up the total wattage again now that it's 2014. My latest electric bill came in, and the graph showing usage for the past 13 months was ...

  4. Day 98: A paly that doesn't necessarily live up to its name

I have had a certain type of Palythoa in my system for years. It is nicknamed "Purple Death" but it rarely appears to be even close to what I see online. Here are some examples displayed by Googles Images.

  5. Making the jump to LEDs

So I finally decided to take the plunge into LEDs and after much debate I have chosen Ecotech Radion Pros. I picked up a couple Gen 1 standard models back in October but they didnt seem like enough for my tank so I went ahead and upgraded them to Pros in November. So what I have now is three Radion Pro Gen 2s over my 210 gallon mixed reef which replaced my three 14k Phoenix 250 watt Metal Halides.
